Evacuating in the middle of the night with nothing but their clothes and IDs, the community was displaced to refugee settings in Erbil and Duhok. This moving documentary features raw testimonies from parishioners, university teachers, and Dominican sisters who faced threats, severe extortion, and psychological trauma. Following the region's liberation, Christians returning to their hometowns discovered their homes pillaged or burned to ashes, and their beloved churches completely desecrated—with altars destroyed, walls covered in radical graffiti, and sanctuaries used as target practice. Despite the total erosion of safety and local trust, the film highlights a resilient community that relies deeply on prayer, choosing to look toward the light, forgive, and reconstruct their lives as the salt and light of the earth.
