El Sudario de Cristo / The Shroud of Christ

TITLE OF THE LONG VERSION (55’) : “EL SUDARIO DE CRISTO”
TITLE OF THE SHORTER VERSION (40’): “EL ENIGMA DE UN ROSTRO”
Much is still left to be known about the person and the death of Christ. The data found in the Turin Shroud, and the subsequent debate, are well known. But up to now, only a few have taken notice of another cloth, which according to St John, covered the head of Jesus during the crucifixion. This is the Oviedo Cloth, (Sudarium) which has been kept in the north of Spain since at least 1075. This blood stained cloth is now revealing its secrets.
This program shows, for the first time, the surprising results of twelve years of research carried out on the Oviedo Cloth by a multidisciplinary team of 40 scientists.
Using modern crime investigation techniques the experts have discovered in this cloth human blood stains of the AB group, the same found in the Turin Shroud. They belong to a man with beard and mustache that died crucified after being tortured. The holes of a thorn crown have also been identified, as well as polen from Palestine plants and a number of significant details that seem proof that the man of the Oviedo cloth is the same as that of the Turin Shroud...
Twelve experts, from different universities and research institutions, answer interesting questions such as the look of Jesus’ face, the cause of his death, the validity of the Carbon 14 test, and even the possibility of cloning him out of the blood from the Cloth.
The camera takes us to the Oviedo cathedral where the relique is kept and to other places in Spain, where the specialists tell us about their findings
.A third program of this kind under production. It deals with the Way of St. James (Camino de Santiago, north of Spain), the World’s third pilgrimage place, after Rome and Jerusalem. It clears the doubts on weather this Apostle is really buried there or it is only a legend. "
