Vatican City, 10 October 2025 — To mark the 25th anniversary of the mission of Aid to the Church in Need (ACN) in defence of religious freedom, Pope Leo XIV received representatives of the pontifical foundation in an audience at the Vatican.
During the meeting, the Holy Father praised ACN’s recent Report on Religious Freedom in the World 2025, describing it as ‘a powerful tool for raising awareness and bearing witness, giving a voice to the voiceless and revealing the hidden suffering of many’.
He encouraged the organisation’s members and collaborators to continue their work with hope and perseverance, recalling the words of Saint Paul: “Do not grow weary of doing good” (Galatians 6:9).
For a quarter of a century, ACN has been working tirelessly to give a voice to persecuted Christians and promote religious freedom on every continent.
‘Together, let us defend those who suffer for their faith’ was the final message of this significant day.
