"Spain, 1936. After Franko came to power many families of the UHT Party (Worker’s Union) left to the USSR, where with Stalin’s and his successors’ support, the Spanish community was living, maintaining its order, traditions and the language even in the hard times of World War II, and this inspite of strained relations with the West during the Cold War period. “Return” recounts stories of three children from such families. This people’s narration of their lives together with photographs and archival newsreels used in the film, will open the audience up to the true picture of Spanish community life in the Soviet Union. These stories represent an indispensable source of information helping us to understand a long forgotten or consciously hidden past. Today every one of the heroines of this film anew discovers their first motherland and faith, left behind in childhood. "
