"A young intellectual, Nicole, is arrested during the years of communist oppression in Romania for her membership in an opposition party. Suffering cruel and exhausting interrogation and isolation, Nicole rediscovers the faith of her childhood. Despite the daily ordeals and deprivations, prayer and the power of her faith provides Nicole the strength to not only overcome but to help the other prisoners survive.
Slowly Nicole begins to see the unexpected small joys that can also make up prison life. At times a difficult film regarding the realities of prison life under a communist regime, nonetheless, a story of trial and discovery of faith told with warmth and sensitivity. "
