"The program focuses around the ""Mon"", an ethnic people forced to leave their country by the Burmese Army. Two men, a catholic missionary from Victoria and a Buddhist monk in exile from Burma, try to serve these people. In spite of cultural, religious and language differences, they share the same will to help the Mon community."

  • Comentarios: This first part of the Field Afar series is well produced. There are some very nice pictures of the surroundings of Bangkok and the program is dotted with historical documents which provide the film with a context. Of note only is the producer's desire to be tolerant almost results in an apology of Buddhism.
