"In the beginning of the 20th century after the collapse of the Russian Empire several subjugated nations tried to gain back their independence. The Ukraine’s attempt was crashed and the country was swallowed by the new Soviet Union. When Stalin came into power in the late 1920’s the Communist Party systematically took brutal control over all aspects in society. They took away all food and livestock, which was a horror for Ukrainian peasants and people in the winter and spring of 1933. The drama of the great Famine 1933 is shown by the history of one Ukrainian family involved in those circumstances.
