The Certificate in Compassion and Social Communication, developed by SIGNIS in alliance with the Xavier University of Bhubaneshwar, and received by nine young catholic communicators from Argentina, Cuba, Philippines, India, Mexico and Togo in the Xavier University of Bhubaneshwar, India, during the past three months, has ended with the creation of a collective project of communication, inspired in the encyclical letter Laudato Si’, by Pope Francis. Its name is Unfold Nest, a digital transmedia book to be presented in the next days in several Internet platforms.
For its creators, Unfold Nest symbolizes several essential elements: first of all, it is a multiple tale that engages readers into a very special adventure – the adventure of knowledge and discovery of one’s self, society, and the planet we inhabit – it is also, the summary and result of the first SIGNIS’ global programme, that gathered young media professionals in a path of learning and a common life. Furthermore, this digital book that brings together different media, is also the response of a concrete calling: we need to save the world, change our lifestyle, and make a difference.
This project is the result of a series of efforts that are grounded on the reflections of Pope Francis in his encyclical Laudato Si, a text that, given the current circumstances, has acquired an undeniable prophetic value and has presented a series of guidelines for action.
