We ascend the eastern slope of the Mount of Olives and approach the Shrine of Bethphage, where every year the celebrations of Holy Week open on Palm Sunday. It was from here, in fact, according to the Gospels' telling, that Jesus, with the disciples, made his humble entry into Jerusalem.
